I have 52 months of experience breastfeeding (between my 3 kiddos) under my mom belt. I seem to have experienced it all when it comes to this subject, I'm sure I'm wrong but I have had many issues arise throughout my time nursing my kiddos. Between the three kiddos and 52 months, I have went through milk teeth and a tongue tied kiddo, bad latch, over supply, mastitis, loss of supply and post partum. Even through all of that I feel like the luckiest mom, to be able to nurse my kids as long as I and they wanted. I know I'm blessed but it wasn't the easiest road either.
I'm sure you already know but everything a woman consumes can get into her breastmilk – at least to some degree. We know that even the foods we consume can affect the flavor of breastmilk. Moms to gassy or colicky babies may be asked to adjust their diet so their baby can better metabolize the breastmilk. And the essential oils that you use also effect the breastmilk. The amounts may vary, but it is presumed that less than 1% of essential oils get into breastmilk. The safe use of these essential oils while breastfeeding should not present an issue for your baby. Estrogen is the hormone that stimulates the milk duct system to grow and differentiate. Like progesterone, high levels of estrogen also reduce lactation so use this oil with care. Not following the recommended directions could result in a reduction of breastmilk. Estrogen levels also drop at delivery and remain low for the first several months of breastfeeding. Talk to a lactation consultant for more information and a personal help, each person has their own reason for not producing enough breast milk - hormones, depression, lack of sleep (I know it's a baby keeping you up), not enough nutrition or the right type of nutrition, HYDRATION is one of the big ones too.

~Rub this essential oil blend on your breasts, massaging in a circular motion, starting under the arms, working inward and downward and then up between the cleavage. Do this once a day and remember to wash the oil off before feeding your baby. Best if used when you have 45 minutes or more in between feedings
~Do not use on nipples and areolas
~Do not use on cracked skin, may use on scabbed skin
~Not safe for use on children
~I found it easiest to take a shower as soon as my littlest fell asleep, rub the oil on after the shower
~If he didn't want to eat for 45 mins after application there is no need to wash the oil off, if it is before the 45 mins are up then wash off and nurse.
~Start slowly with this oil, massage the oil in once a day and if you do not have the increase that is needed to supply for your kiddo add a extra oil massage a day until you are satisfied
~This is not something that should be needed to maintain your supply, after your increase it will take a day or two of that routine for your body to keep up.
~Be sure to have 6 hours between applications and to wash the oil off before nursing or pumping.
Remember to stay hydrated and eat well and often, look up lactation cookie recipes and herbal supplements. Fenugreek is a great one, Red Raspberry leaf tea (not to be mistaken with raspberry tea), brewers yeast and flax meal are all great additions to your diet.
Hydration is key and if you are as tired as I was then you may be interested in a water bottle tracker. That way you can keep track of how much hydration you have even on your sleepiest, mombie days. https://www.etsy.com/listing/613770664/new-mom-water-bottle-tracker-beads?ref=shop_home_active_1
